Our Story

The origin of SimSim.

A grandmother's saying, a tiny seed, and two cultures meeting at one table on Highway 8.

A SimSim table spread with dips, salads and bread

"The SimSim, Arabic for sesame seed, is to the Lebanese what maple syrup is to the Canadians: a must have essential game changer."

This is what my grandmother would always say, and it could not be more true. The sesame seed and Lebanese people are very similar due to their resilient nature, and both have the ability to withstand and thrive in challenging conditions.

With the opening of SimSim, we hope to merge two beautifully distinct cultures into one and introduce everyone to the deliciousness we have to bring. We want to welcome you and everyone to our SimSim infused family!

How We Cook

Street food, the Lebanese way.

Baked to order

Manakeesh dough goes into the oven when you order, topped with zaatar, cheese, lahmajeen or kishik, never before.

Infused with SimSim

Sesame runs through the kitchen: in the zaatar, on the cheese manakeesh, and in the tahini that finishes so many plates.

Built your way

Platters start with your protein, then your toppings and your sauces, over rice with batata harra and fresh pita.
